US Travel is returning to North Sulawesi (The Land of Smiling Faces) for 11 days / 10 nights and Amazing Singapore for 3 nights. The perfect combination trip. There is also the option to add on a pre-trip package stay in Raja Ampat.
Those of you who journeyed with US Travel in 2019 know the DIL Resort is located at some of the best diving in the world! This is Heather’s personal favorite for exotic marine life and photography! When divers think of Lembeh Straits they think of the best black volcanic sand diving in the world, not to be outdone by the lush corals and sponges and the most biodiverse marine life in the world. The trip features amazing black volcanic sand diving viewing the most “weird” and wonderful marine life along with dives dedicated to viewing coral reefs.

Detailed Itinerary
Pending flight schedules, you will be in North Sulawesi at DIL Resort August 24, 2022. It is recommended you arrive in Singapore a few days ahead of the flight from Singapore to Manado in North Sulawesi to get rested and enjoy spending some time at the world renown Changi Singapore Airport with the 7-story high waterfall called the Jewel and some spectacular dining and shopping. Most flights from Michigan arrive a day after departure late in the evening which allows you to spend the night at one of the airport hotels, then fly to Manado at 9am, arriving in North Sulawesi early in the afternoon.
The DIL staff will pick us up at the airport for the hour drive to your amazing room. The rest of the day is yours to explore the beautiful grounds, get your dive gear sorted, take a dip in the pool, dig your toes into the soft black diamond sand, enjoy a wonderful dinner and chill out at the Bar for the most glorious sunset!
We so missed our trip to DIL this year, so we booked 10 nights in your private cottage with plunge pool or the Long-House Bungalow Rooms with the giant pool at your beck and call, including 8 days of diving. The resort is located on the famous dive site of Hairball, where you have unlimited shore diving access on the house reef until 6pm every day (except for day of arrival and departure).
September 3, 2022, depart for the return flight to Singapore. The package includes 3 nights September 3-6 in Singapore at the Grand Dame of Hotels, The Fullerton Hotel at 1 Fullerton Place in the center of Singapore and walking distance to the best attractions. A bountiful and delicious full buffet breakfast is included along with taxes and GST. If this is your first time visiting the Financial Center of Asia, Singapore is an adventure with great parks, forests, museums, theatre, botanical gardens, unparalleled dining, Sentosa, a complete marine theme park, the first night zoo in the world and great historic areas. The Fullerton Hotel was the original post office in Singapore located on the waterfront, a destination location by itself, with several restaurants and a rooftop bar with great views of the lazer show at night. If this is your first or tenth time to Singapore, you will find new areas to explore.
Some divers going on this trip want to fly from Singapore into Sorong, Papua for a pre-trip 5 day/ 4-night dive package in Raja Ampat at the Waiwo Resort built on a beautiful white sand beach, the stuff of which dreams are made. Ten-foot Wobbegong sharks, giant turtles, pristine coral reefs, sharks, a great example of Raja Ampat. All things good are frequently not easy to get to. You fly into Sorong from Singapore usually through Jakarta on an overnight flight on Air Garuda, then a several hour ferry ride to the island and about another half hour drive to the resort. Raja often requires an overnight stay in Sorong prior to flying to DIL Resort in Lembeh to join up with the group. If interested, please give Heather a call.
Anticipated airfare round trip from Detroit into Manado varies but usually ranges from $2000 to $2400. Singapore Airlines is a popular carrier and if you are Delta committed, the flight usually changes planes in Seoul to Korean Air which is a co-share with Delta. Air Garuda is also a co-share with Delta.
To secure your space a $1,000 nonrefundable deposit per person is needed, with a second nonrefundable deposit due Feb. 1 and the final nonrefundable balance is due May 20, 2022. If you wish to add the pre-night package in Waiwo, an additional $500 deposit is required to hold your space.
When flights become available, you will be called, and you should ticket at that time. Most divers on this trip have US Travel Centers ticket their flights. If you decide to ticket your own seats, you are encouraged to do so, however, please talk with Heather prior to ticketing.
