Our Story
Captain Howard (Bud) Uren and Dr. Heather Sellick
US Travel Center, an Adventure Travel Agency opened in 1986 as US Scuba Center’s official travel agency organizing all the details for Group and Individual Trips “Above and Below Water”.
A State-of-the-Art professional scuba dive center, US Scuba quickly grew to an 8000 square foot center, as did the demand for quality escorted, detail oriented, group and individual scuba-oriented trips. US Travel was established to fulfill those needs and continues as an Adventure Travel Agency since US Scuba Center closed in 2020.
IATAN licensed US Travel Center, Inc. changed names in 2021 to US Travel Centers, LLC. Due to the frequency and size of groups, US Travel is a preferred booking agent for numerous resorts and has a close relationship with the resorts, dive operators, local people and a unique knowledge of a multitude of locations around the world.
Our Mission: To expand our client’s ability to travel as effortlessly as possible to the best of the best locations above and below water.
Our Goal: To provide opportunities for clients who wish to become more than tourists but travelers who experience the local culture and make friends around the world.
Our Specialty: Group Adventures – small to medium sized groups.
Our Priority: Support marine life conservation and eco conservation through the support of local tourism which provides good jobs and in turn supports the preservation of resources vital to earn a good living. Our clients share our concern for the environment and support local projects by practicing good will to the countries we visit and “pack for a cause”. When traveling to different areas such as Indonesia and Africa, they bring school supplies whenever possible.
Destinations: Annual trips to the Caribbean include the always popular Bonaire and Cayman Islands. Alternating year trips frequently include Indonesia, Africa and South America, Micronesia and other exotic locations.

Bud has over 6500 dives and is a Pro 5000 Instructor. Bud was a PADI Course Director, SSI Instructor Evaluator/Certifier and NAUI Instructor. Bud is co-founder of US Scuba Center and US Travel Center and a member of numerous major manufacturer test dive teams. Bud is trained in confined space rescue and is a Commercial Helicopter Pilot. Bud is an avid Michigan Diver and is credited for having discovered the “City of Genoa” shipwreck when he operated a dive charter boat in Michigan. Bud and Heather are proud recipients of the first Platinum Bonaire Ambassador Award which recognized the thousands of clients they have introduced to Bonaire on over 100 group trips through US Scuba and US Travel Centers.
Dr. Heather Sellick
Heather is a Pro 5000 Diver and a Scuba Instructor. Heather developed numerous Unique Specialty scuba courses along with US Scuba Center’s Educational Program and Department of Higher Education State Certification of US Scuba Center as a vocational scuba instruction training facility. Heather is involved with marine preservation programs and initiated the original Manatee Benefit with the proceeds donated to numerous marine conservation projects. Co-founder of US Scuba Center and US Travel Centers, Heather is a Dive Travel Adventure Destination Specialist. Heather also initiated a pack to support local school programs embraced by travelers on our group trips.
